Sempro or seminar proposals become an inseparable part of the process of preparing theses, theses, and dissertations. The scientific work is a mandatory requirement for completing lectures, so it must be prepared properly and correctly. What is meant by sempro is the submission of a research plan that is presented to the supervisor and examiner for evaluation. The aim is to assist students in preparing thesis so that the research direction is correct, identify research topics, formulate hypotheses, understand research background, develop or adjust appropriate methods.

The Faculty of Engineering, Civil Engineering Study Program, Universitas PGRI Palembang, on Monday (18/07/2022) the even semester of the academic year 2021/2022 held a Thesis Proposal Seminar which was held in the Hall of the Faculty of Engineering, Building D, 1st Floor, Universitas PGRI Palembang.

The thesis proposal seminar was attended by 6 (six) participants, namely: 1. Mario Sepriansyah, 2. Sahrul Ramadhan, 3. Tri Satya Fitri, 4. Robi Stiawan, 5. Irgi Ahmad Faisal, 6. Mawardi. General Lecture of the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang

The Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang held a Public Lecture on Saturday (18/06/2022) with the theme “The Role of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) in Improving the Quality of Human Resources in the field of Engineering to Welcome the Sosiety 5.0 Era”. Palembang Ir. Erna Yuliawati, MT., Ph.D., IPM (Chairman of PII Palembang City), with Moderator Dr. Neny Rochyani, ST., MT., IPM (Lecturer of Chemical Engineering Faculty of Engineering UPGRIP and Treasurer of PII Palembang City).

This event took place at the H. Usman Madjid Hall, lt. 5 PGRI Palembang University Library Building. This public lecture was opened directly by the Head of BPH PB PGRI at PGRI University Palembang, Dr. Hj.Meilia Rosani, S.H., M.H represented by the Secretary of BPH PB PGRI At PGRI University Palembang Drs. Surmana, M.M., and attended by the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Sc., CIQaR represented by Vice Chancellors I and II Dr. Yasir Arafat, S.E., M.M., Head of PII Palembang branch Ir. Erna Yuliawati, M.T., Ph.D., IPM., Dean of the Adiguna Engineering Faculty, S.T., M.Sc., along with the staff, Head of Emidiana Electrical Engineering Study Program, S.T., M.T., Head of Chemical Engineering Study Program Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T., Chairperson Amiwarti Civil Engineering Study Program, S.T., M.T., lecturers and students of the Faculty of Engineering semester 2 to semester 8 of all existing study programs.

In his speech, the Dean of the Adiguna Engineering Faculty, S.T., M.Si said “With public lectures, it can open students’ horizons to become students who are reliable and able to play a greater role in society, so that when they graduate they have good competence and are ready to face changes. available.” Meanwhile, Vice Chancellors I and II Dr. Yasir Arafat, S.E., M.M said, “Students must be able to innovate in line with today’s developments, but must remain focused on studying so that they can graduate on time”. Meanwhile Drs. Surmana, M.M in his speech said, “We are already faced with the industrial revolution, the pandemic is pushing everyone to carry out this revolution, the world demands that we adapt. Students must have a good mentality to be able to collaborate with outside parties and students must have sufficient provisions to be able to compete in the outside world”, said Drs. Surmana, M.M ending his speech and at the same time opening a public lecture.

Before entering the material presentation event, on this occasion a memorandum of understanding (MoA) was also signed between the study programs at the Faculty of Engineering, namely: Electrical Engineering Study Program, Chemical Engineering Study Program and Civil Engineering Study Program with PII Palembang branch.

After listening to the speaker’s explanation about the Role of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) in Improving the Quality of Human Resources in the field of Engineering to Welcome the Sosiety 5.0 Era, the event was filled with questions and answers. The question and answer session was moderated by Dr. Neny Rochyani, ST., MT., IPM., (Lecturer of Chemical Engineering Faculty of Engineering UPGRIP and Treasurer of PII Palembang City) provided an opportunity for students and lecturers who attended this public lecture session to ask questions.

The event which lasted for approximately 2 hours was closed with a group photo session.

While practical work is an activity carried out by final year students as part of the curriculum that must be carried out by civil engineering students, the purpose of this practical work is to learn and add insight into the world of work, and as a form of application of the theory that has been obtained in lectures. In addition, practical work is one of the requirements for academic administration to complete the undergraduate/S1 level.

The Faculty of Engineering, Civil Engineering Study Program, Universitas PGRI Palembang, on Friday (15/07/2022) even semester of the academic year 2021/2022 held a Thesis Proposal Seminar and Job Training Seminar which was held in the Hall of the Faculty of Engineering, Building D, 1st Floor, Universitas PGRI Palembang.

Proposal Seminar and Factory Design Seminar on Chemical Engineering Study Program Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang, Even Semester, 2021/2022 Academic Year

The aim is to assist students in preparing thesis so that the research direction is correct, identify research topics, formulate hypotheses, understand research background, develop or adjust appropriate methods. While the factory design assignment seminar is a final project that must be completed by every student of the Chemical Engineering Study Program Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang as a prerequisite for completing undergraduate studies. With this assignment, it is hoped that the reasoning ability and application of the theories that have been obtained during lectures can develop and can be understood well.

The Faculty of Engineering, Chemical Engineering Study Program, Universitas PGRI Palembang, on Saturday, June 25, 2022, held a proposal seminar and a factory design assignment seminar located in the classrooms of the Faculty of Engineering, Building D, 1st Floor, Universitas PGRI Palembang. Coordination Meeting for Field Assessment Preparation (AL), Preparation for Final Semester Exams (UAS) and Other Academic Activities for the 2020-2021 Academic Year

In connection with the implementation of a field assessment (AL) in the Chemical and Civil Engineering Study Program, the implementation of the even semester UAS for the Academic Year 2021-2022 and other academic activities for the Academic Year 2020-2021, the Faculty of Engineering will hold a Coordination Meeting which will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022. at 09.30 WIB until finished in the Hall of the Faculty of Engineering, 1st floor of Building D, PGRI Palembang University. This meeting was chaired directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Adiguna, ST., M.Si, which was attended by the Deputy Director of the Faculty of Engineering Mr. Aan Sefentry, ST., MT., and his staff, Electrical Emidiana, ST., MT., Head of Chemical Engineering Study Program Muhrinsyah Fatimura, ST., MT., Head of Civil Engineering Study Program Amiwarti, ST., MT., Head of Engineering Study Program and all managers Faculty of Engineering.

As for the things discussed at this coordination meeting, among others regarding the preparation for the implementation and deadline for the thesis trial, the determination of the graduation schedule for the engineering faculty, the determination of the deadline for the graduation participant data and the submission of the data to the university, preparation of the even semester class schedule, student re-registration, new courses, workshops/meetings regarding the common perception of KP guidance and thesis as well as thesis writing training. Furthermore, it is hoped that all relevant parties can synergize well in terms of implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Implementation of the Thesis Session of the Faculty of Engineering, Electrical Engineering Study Program, University of PGRI Palembang, Even Semester of the Academic Year 2021/2022

Thesis is a scientific work that must be written by students as part of one of the requirements to obtain a bachelor’s degree. And to test the truth of the thesis material, it is necessary to hold a thesis trial or a comprehensive trial. Students who are allowed to take part in this thesis trial are students who have met various administrative requirements. In addition, the student has completed all courses as one of the requirements that must be taken. Students are asked to present their thesis in front of the examiner. This is done to determine whether they are eligible to hold a bachelor of engineering (ST) degree. Meanwhile, the purpose of the thesis trial or comprehensive session is to assess students’ academic insight, abilities and depth, assess students’ reasoning and analysis abilities and assess students’ abilities in developing theories that are in accordance with the scientific disciplines of the study program.

Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang Electrical Engineering Study Program held a thesis trial on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Laboratory of Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, 1st Floor, Business and Science Center Building, Universitas PGRI Palembang held a thesis trial which was attended by five (5) participants. Seminar on Results of Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang Even Semester Academic Year 2021/2022

The results seminar is an academic activity carried out by students after completing research data collection activities and is carried out before submitting a thesis exam. The thesis result seminar needs to be submitted by students as one of the requirements for obtaining a bachelor’s degree.

The Faculty of Engineering, Electrical Studies Program, Universitas PGRI Palembang held a results seminar. This seminar on results was held on Wednesday, June 8 2022, even semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Year in the Lecturer Room of the Faculty of Engineering, 1st Floor, Building D, Universitas PGRI Palembang. Meanwhile, the purpose of the thesis trial or comprehensive session is to assess students’ academic insight, abilities and depth, assess students’ reasoning and analysis abilities and assess students’ abilities in developing theories that are in accordance with the scientific disciplines of the study program.

16 Students of the Faculty of Engineering Participate in the Graduation of the PGRI University Palembang

Graduation is the dream of all students and to achieve it, of course, students must follow a long procedure, such as: lectures, research, writing scientific papers, and others. Graduation is a ceremony of confirmation or inauguration for someone who has studied, graduation is also a sign of graduation for students who have studied at a university.

PGRI University Palembang on May 18-19 2022, held the graduation of the 58th Bachelor’s Degree I and 32nd Master’s Degree, face to face at Hotel Santika Premiere Palembang. Ahmad Zulinto, S.Pd., M.M., Chairperson BPH PB at PGRI at PGRI University Palembang, Dr. Hj. Meilia Rosani, S.H., M.H., Rector of PGRI Palembang University Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si, CIQaR and staff, Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Office Drs. H. Riza Fahlevi, M.M., Plh. Deputy Chancellor I, Vice Chancellor II and Vice Chancellor III, chairman and members of the senate of the Deans, Plt. A total of 639 students participated in the graduation procession. By continuing to prioritize strict health protocols, all graduates are required to wear masks, avoid crowds, maintain distance, reduce mobility and wash hands and take body temperature before entering the event room.

This graduation was divided into two sessions and 16 students of the Faculty of Engineering consisting of 8 students from the electrical engineering study program, 5 students from the chemical engineering study program and 3 students from the civil engineering study program attended the second graduation session which was held on Tuesday, 19 May 2022.

The Faculty of Engineering is committed to continuing to provide the best service to the community and especially to students, and will continuously improve the quality of its graduates so that later they can be easily absorbed in the world of work, it is hoped that all graduates can give pride and bring a good name to PGRI Palembang University. And hopefully they can contribute and take part optimally in their respective fields with various works and services for the community, nation and state.
