World Enviroment Day is an important instrument to raise awareness about the environment and encourage political attention and action at the global level. This day is seen as an opportunity for everyone to be part of global action in voicing protection of the planet, sustainable use of natural resources, and environmentally friendly lifestyles.
The South Sumatra Provincial Government through the Provincial Environment Agency organised the 50th World Environment Day activities held at the Pubakala Bala Putra Dewa Museum Palembang on 19 July 2023. This activity itself is a form of promotion, socialisation and education for the wider community on how to process and use the environment with an environmentally friendly concept.
As one of the facilitators of environmental management as well as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, PGRI University Palembang, Dr. Ir. Neny Rochyani, MT, IPM with the assistance of students of the Faculty of Engineering, PGRI University Palembang, contributed in providing education and socialisation directly to the community through the Eco Enzym Stand. In this activity, it was introduced what eco enzymes are, what organic materials are used, how they are made and how to use eco enzymes in the environment both in households and in the community.
The implementation of education and socialisation which was attended by the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru and the officials of South Sumatra Province and Palembang City as well as other visitors went smoothly, lively and crowded. This can be seen from the high interest and enthusiasm of visitors who attended to gain knowledge about eco enzymes. Hopefully eco enzymes will continue to have a positive and beneficial impact on the wider community.
