Thesis Writing Workshop, Faculty of Engineering, PGRI Palembang University

In an effort to improve the quality of student thesis writing that is good and correct, the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang held a Thesis Writing Workshop. On this occasion, the Faculty of Engineering presented four speakers, namely Adiguna, S.T., M.Si., Amiwarti, S.T., M.T., Emidiana, S.T., M.T and Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T. The workshop was held at Aidil Fitrisyah Hall, Business Building and Science Center 5th floor Thursday, April 1, 2021, this event took place by prioritizing health protocols set by the government.

A total of 70 students attended the event which was held from 08.00 to 16.00 WIB. The activity was officially opened by the Chancellor of the PGRI Palembang University, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si., CIQaR. In his remarks, Adiguna, ST, M.Si said “With the agreement of the Engineering Faculty Thesis writing guidelines, in writing thesis students, especially students of the Faculty of Engineering, from all existing study programs have the same direction and procedure in accordance with the established guidelines. . The hope is that students who take part in this workshop will produce a better thesis than before “. Meanwhile Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si., CIQaR expressed his tremendous appreciation for this event. “Thesis Writing Workshop is an activity that is very important to be held, with the presence of resource persons who are experts in their fields, so that they can help students how to make a thesis. All activities boil down to quality. To maintain and improve the existing quality, it needs cooperation from all existing parties, “he added. At the end of his speech, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si., CIQaR said “Students can take part in any activity but don’t forget the final assignment as a student, all the presenters are expected to provide good material”.

As the first resource person, Adiguna, S.T., M.Si explained the material on the Academic Policy of the Faculty of Engineering. Amiwarti, S.T., M.T appeared as the second resource person to open the topic with material on the Procedures and Requirements for Student Thesis Activities.

After a break, the program was resumed. Appearing as the third resource person was Emidiana, S.T., M.T with material on Thesis Writing Format and appeared as the fourth resource person Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T with material on Citation, Format and Journal Submit. The workshop event was closed with a question and answer session between participants and presenters.The aims and objectives of this activity include providing thesis writing training to students of the Faculty of Engineering, PGRI Palembang University so that they have knowledge and understanding of how to write a thesis, and provide students with the ability, understanding, and skills in writing a thesis in accordance with the rules or guidelines for thesis writing is in the Faculty of Engineering. In the future, Engineering Faculty students will produce a better thesis.
