The signing of the MoU at PGRI Palembang University and Community Service (PKM) Civil Engineering Study Program Faculty of Engineering, PGRI Palembang University at SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir Regency

On September 14, 2021, at the SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir hall, a collaboration was established between PGRI Palembang University and SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Rector of the University of PGRI Palembang, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, MM, M.Sc., CIQaR, in this case represented by Adiguna, ST, M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Marda’i, S.Pd., M.Si as the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir has signed a memorandum of understanding between the two parties. The MoU event was attended by the leadership, staff and students of SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang, Head of Civil Engineering Study Program Amiwarti, S.T., M.T and Civil Engineering Lecturers, Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang.

In his speech, Marda’i, S.Pd., M.Si expressed his highest appreciation to the University of PGRI Palembang for the implementation of this memorandum of understanding. “A big thank you to PGRI Palembang University for choosing SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang to work together. Hopefully, this collaboration will be beneficial for both parties. This is a good opportunity for us and it is hoped that SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang can synergize with PGRI Palembang University both in improving learning, research and making it easier for students to study at PGRI Palembang University”. Meanwhile Adiguna, S.T., M.Si in his speech said “After the MoU, PGRI Palembang University will be ready to help improve the competence of SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir. PGRI Palembang University will provide assistance for SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang Ogan Ilir both regarding existing facilities and the required experts according to the agreement”. After his remarks, Adiguna, S.T., M.Si gave a socialization about PGRI Palembang University.

After the signing of the MoU, the event continued with the implementation of Community Service (PKM) of the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering with the theme “Biopore as an Alternative to Overcoming Puddles and as a Producer of Compost Fertilizer”. Led by the Head of Civil Engineering Study Program, Amiwarti, S.T., M.T with members: 1. DR. M. Firdaus, S.T., M.T., 2. Herri Purwanto, S.T., M.T., 3. Reffanda Kurniawan, S.T., M.M., 4. Agus Setiobudi, S.T., M.Si., 5. Syahril Alzahri, S.T., M.T.

Then the event continued with the presentation of the material. In the first session, Amiwarti, S.T., M.T gave material on the definition, purpose and benefits of biopore infiltration holes. Then Herri Purwanto, S.T., M.T gave an explanation of the biopore concept and the technical requirements of the biopore infiltration hole. After listening to the presentation on biopori, the event continued with the second session, namely the introduction and practice of installing biopori. The practice was guided by Herri Purwanto, S.T., M.T and assisted by students.

 After the delivery of material and practice, the event continued with discussions and questionnaires. With the counseling and training on biopore, it is hoped that it can motivate SMA Negeri 1 Rantau Panjang regarding the use of biopori as an alternative to overcoming stagnant water and producing compost.
