Various efforts are often made by lecturers and educator managers to further improve and support a more effective and efficient learning process. Although many factors determine the quality of education or learning outcomes, one of them is related to the center of learning resources. One of the learning resource centers is a laboratory. The laboratory is one of the learning infrastructures that can be used as a place to train in understanding concepts and improving scientific skills. The laboratory is also a place where experiments, measurements, research or scientific research activities are carried out related to science and other sciences. The laboratory is a place to apply scientific theory, theoretical testing, experimental evidence, research and so on by using tools that are completeness of the facilities with adequate quantity and quality.
After going through a series of events, on Friday, October 15, 2021, the new engineering laboratory building of the PGRI Palembang University was inaugurated. The laboratory inauguration was symbolically marked by ribbon cutting by H. Ahmad Zulinto, S.Pd., M.M. as the Head of PGRI Prov. South Sumatra and was attended by the Chairman of YPLP-PT PGRI South Sumatra Hj. Meilia Rosani, S.H., M.H and their staff, UPGRI Palembang Chancellor Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Sc., CIQaR along with the ranks, Director and Deputy Director of Postgraduate, Deans, Deputy Deans from all faculties within PGRI Palembang University as well as the entire academic community of the Faculty of Engineering UPGRI Palembang and students.
In the future, this new laboratory will be used optimally by lecturers and students to conduct research. Hopefully with the addition of this infrastructure, it will be able to support the participation of the UPGRI Palembang Faculty of Engineering as an educational institution that can continue to develop for the better and contribute more especially to the people of South Sumatra.
