Thesis Writing Workshop, Faculty of Engineering TA. 2021-2022

In an effort to improve the quality of good and correct student thesis writing, the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang held a TA Thesis Writing Workshop. 2021-2022. On this occasion, the Faculty of Engineering presented four speakers, namely Adiguna, S.T., M.Sc., Amiwarti, S.T., M.T., Emidiana, S.T., M.T., and Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T. The workshop was held in the Hall of the Faculty of Engineering, Building D, 1st floor, PGRI University Palembang, Friday, November 6, 2021 and took place from 09.00 WIB. This event took place by prioritizing the health protocols set by the government. The workshop was implemented using a Hybrid system and as many as 18 students attended the event, which was held both offline and online.

The activity, which was moderated by Rully Masriatini, S.T., M.T, began with the accountability report of the chairman of the workshop committee, Mr. Aan Sefentry, S.T., M.T, then continued with remarks from the Dean of the Adiguna Engineering Faculty, S.T., M.Si who also opened the workshop. In his remarks, Adiguna, S.T., M.Si expressed his extraordinary appreciation for the implementation of this activity. “Thank you to all the academics of the engineering faculty, especially the executive committee for holding this activity in order to improve the quality of the faculty. With this workshop, students have standards in carrying out thesis writing. and this workshop was able to increase the knowledge, quality, behavior and abilities of engineering faculty students. It is hoped that students who take part in this workshop will produce better thesis writing than before.”

Appearing as the first resource person, Adiguna, S.T., M.Si presented material on the Academic Policy of the Faculty of Engineering. Then Amiwarti, S.T., M.T appeared as the second resource person with material on Procedures and Requirements for Student Thesis Activities. Followed by the third speaker Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T with material on Citation, Format and Submit Journal. After a break, the event resumed, appearing as the fourth resource person Emidiana, S.T., M.T with material on Thesis Writing Format.

The purpose and objectives of this activity are, among others, to provide thesis writing training to students of the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang in order to have knowledge and understanding of how to write a thesis properly and correctly, to provide students with the ability and skills to write thesis in accordance with established rules or guidelines. at the Faculty of Engineering.

The workshop was closed with a question and answer session between participants and presenters.

Participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang in the Webinar of the National Digital Literacy Program

Digital literacy is an individual’s interest, attitude, and ability to use digital technology and communication tools to access, manage, integrate, analyze and evaluate information, build new knowledge, create, and communicate with others. Digital literacy also means a person’s ability and insight in the aspect of using digital technology, communication tools, creating and evaluating information in a healthy and careful manner and obeying the law in life, the ability and knowledge to use digital means wisely and appropriately. Digital literacy is important because it can enable a person to think critically, creatively, and innovatively, solve problems, communicate more smoothly, and collaborate with more people.

In order to support the acceleration of digital transformation, capacity building, awareness, and dissemination of the use of digital technology so that people can use the internet correctly and responsibly and increase the knowledge and understanding of the millennial generation of the great potential that Indonesia has. Directorate General of Informatics Applications cq. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang Adiguna, S.T., M.Si took part and became one of the speakers in the Webinar of the 2021 National Digital Literacy Movement in South Sumatra – Palembang City. Appearing as the 4th resource person, Adiguna, S.T., M.Si presented material on “Creating Business Opportunities in the Digital Age By Developing Local Cultural Potential”. In his presentation Adiguna, S.T., M.Si said the role of business opportunities was divided into two, namely as a seeker or a business provider. Creating digital business opportunities, it is better to first know what business is suitable today, besides the importance of introducing local cultural technology in creating business potential to drive the regional economy. As for the series of activities in introducing local culture by: tracing information about local culture, studying the potential of local culture, developing creativity and innovation, posting about local culture and posting information on the results of local cultural development.

Besides Adiguna, ST, M.Si were present as resource persons at this activity, namely: 1. Muhamad Arif Rahmat, SHI (Certified Life Coach), 2. M. Muhaimin, S.IP, MA (CEO Nextup ID), 3. Basic Training of BEM Organization, Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang

Organizational Basic Training is an activity carried out with the aim of providing leadership skills that are responsible for critical, creative and innovative thinking. Basic Organizational Training (LDO) with the theme “Building Superior Cadres Who Have a Leadership Spirit and Have a Critical Mindset” was held by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas PGRI Palembang aimed at all students of the Faculty of Engineering. This activity was held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Drs. H. Usman Madjid 5th floor of the PGRI Palembang University Library Building. This activity was opened directly by the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang in this case represented by the Vice Chancellor III Sukardi, M.Pd and attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Adiguna, S.T., M.Si, the Heads of Study Programs in the Faculty of Engineering, Head of the Student Affairs Subdivision Endang Kurniawan, S.T and students and invited guests. During the activity, all participants and committees involved continued to carry out activities with strict health protocols with the discipline of wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands and measuring body temperature before entering the room.

The training activities were filled with various materials on bureaucracy, organization and leadership. The first material presented in this event was Campus Bureaucracy with Adiguna, S.T., M.Sc. as presenters. Appearing as the second speaker, Nur Muhammad Habibillah, S.Pd delivered material about Organization. Then the third speaker is Medi Heryanto, S.T., M.M with material on Leadership. After all the material is finished, it will be continued interactively with the training participants in a question and answer session.

This basic organizational training aims to cultivate a responsible leader, think critically, creatively and innovatively, foster a sense of kinship for Engineering Faculty students, make a positive contribution in developing potential talents in organizational activities and are highly dedicated to the organization.

It is hoped that after this activity, LDO participants can become active, independent, and responsible organizers in accordance with the objectives of the activity.

22 Students of the Faculty of Engineering Participate in the Graduation of the PGRI University Palembang

Graduation is the dream of all students and to achieve it, of course, students must follow a long procedure, such as: lectures, research, writing scientific papers, and others. Graduation is a ceremony of confirmation or inauguration for someone who has studied, graduation is also a sign of graduation for students who have studied at a university.

PGRI Palembang University on October 25-26 2021, held a face-to-face graduation for undergraduate and postgraduate strata 2 at the Novotel Hotel Palembang. The graduation ceremony was attended by the Chairman of PGRI Sumsel H Ahmad Zulinto, S.Pd., M, M and the ranks of YPLP PT PGRI South Sumatra Province, Chairperson of YPLP PT PGRI Sumsel Hj Meilia Rosani, S.H., M.H and staff, Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si, CIQaR and staff, members of the senate and invited guests.

A total of 1,204 students participated in the graduation procession. By continuing to prioritize strict health protocols, all graduates are required to wear masks, avoid crowds, maintain distance, reduce mobility and wash hands and take body temperature before entering the event room.

At this graduation, it was divided into four sessions and as many as 22 students of the Faculty of Engineering consisting of 8 students from the electrical engineering study program, 4 students from the chemical engineering study program and 10 students from the civil engineering study program who took part in the fourth session of the graduation which was held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

The Faculty of Engineering is committed to continuing to provide the best service to the community and especially to students, and will continuously improve the quality of its graduates so that later they can be easily absorbed in the world of work, it is hoped that all graduates can give pride and bring a good name to PGRI Palembang University. And hopefully they can contribute and take part optimally in their respective fields with various works and services for the community, nation and state.

PTMT Coordination Meeting Faculty of Engineering

In order to welcome the limited face-to-face learning that will soon be implemented, the engineering faculty has completed its facilities and infrastructure to support the implementation of the health protocols set by the government, including: the establishment of the faculty’s covid task force, preparation of temporary isolation rooms, cleaning of study rooms, seating arrangements capacity of not more than 50%, provision of hand washing facilities and body temperature measuring devices.

The Faculty of Engineering, on Thursday, October 18, 2021, at the Hall of the Faculty of Engineering on the 1st floor of building D, PGRI Palembang University held a coordination meeting regarding the preparation of limited face-to-face learning (PTMT) at the University of PGRI Palembang. The meeting was opened and chaired directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Mr. Adiguna, S.T., M.Si and attended by the Deputy Dean, Head of TU, ​​Head of Subsections and all existing managers.

In addition to discussing the preparation for face-to-face learning, this coordination meeting also discussed: preparation for graduation, the 2021 T.A thesis workshop, letter administration and student PKM. With this coordination meeting, it is hoped that the lecturers and managers involved can play an active role and can synergize well.
