Faculty of Engineering Participates in the Workshop on Compilation of the Independent Campus Curriculum

As an effort to realize the implementation of an independent learning campus, it is necessary to hold an independent learning campus curriculum workshop. The Independent Campus Curriculum Workshop was held as a follow-up to the policy of the Minister of Education and Culture regarding the Independent Learning of the Independent Campus (MBKM). The purpose of the MBKM program, the program “right to learn three semesters outside the study program” is to improve the competence of graduates, both soft skills and hard skills, to be more prepared and relevant to the needs of the times, to prepare graduates as future leaders of the nation with superior and personality. The MBKM workshop is very important to be carried out as a step to address the policy regarding the Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM).The Faculty of Engineering participated in participating in the Independent Campus Curriculum Preparation Workshop organized by the PGRI Palembang University. This activity was carried out for 2 (two) days, Friday and Saturday, July 16 and 17, 2021, at the H. Aidil Fitri Syah Hall, the Business and Science Center Building, Universitas PGRI Palembang.

The workshop event which was opened directly by the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, MM., M.Sc., CIQaR., attended by Vice Chancellor I Dr. Yasir Arafat, S.E., M.M., CIQAR., Vice Chancellor III Sukardi, M.Pd and followed by the leadership ranks within UPGRI Palembang such as the deans, vice deans, heads of departments, heads of study programs and lecturers both online and offline. As a resource person in this activity, Mr. Dr. Muhammad Rohmadi, S.S., M. Hum.

In his speech, the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, MM., M.Sc., CIQaR said “The curriculum must be in synergy between the needs of the community, student needs, institutional needs, state needs, so a good curriculum must meet all aspects contained in the main indicators”. Meanwhile Dr. Yasir Arafat, SE, MM, CIQAR as the Chair of the Committee said “this workshop activity aims to increase the understanding of stakeholders in the PGRI Palembang University environment, especially the heads of study programs who will reconstruct the curriculum into their respective study programs so that the curriculum is in accordance with the policies of the Ministry of Education. and Culture that implements the Independent Learning Campus program”.
