Workshop of the Technical Faculty of Practical Work Program

In an effort to improve the quality of the practical work program (KP) for students, the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang, held a Workshop on the Practical Work Program. On this occasion, the Faculty of Engineering presented five speakers, namely Adiguna, S.T., M.Sc., Amiwarti, S.T., M.T., Emidiana, S.T., M.T., Aan Sefentry, S.T., M.T and Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T. The workshop was held in the Hall of Drs. H. Aidil Fitrisyah, M.M., Business and Science Center Building 5th Floor, Thursday, September 2, 2021 and will take place from 09.00 WIB. This event took place by prioritizing the health protocols set by the government. A total of 48 students and lecturers of the engineering faculty attended the event, which was held both offline and online.

The activity was officially opened by the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si., CIQaR. and was also attended by Vice Chancellor III Sukardi M.Pd. On this occasion the Chancellor symbolically hit the gong to mark the start of the workshop and pinned personal protective equipment (PPE) that students would use in the implementation of practical work later.

In his speech, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si., CIQaR expressed his extraordinary appreciation for the implementation of this activity. “Thank you to the dean of the engineering faculty and staff for carrying out this activity in order to improve the quality of the faculty. With this workshop, students have standards in carrying out practical work programs. Before students do practical work, it is hoped that the lecturers of the engineering faculty can provide good knowledge to students, and this workshop is able to increase the knowledge, quality, behavior and abilities of engineering students”. Meanwhile Adiguna, ST, M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in his speech said “With the approval of the Technical Job Training Program guidelines, in the implementation of student practical work, especially students of the Faculty of Engineering from all existing study programs, they have had the right directions and procedures. in accordance with the established guidelines. It is hoped that students who take part in this workshop will produce better report writing and practical work implementation than before.”
Appearing as the first resource person, Adiguna, S.T., M.Si (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering) presented material on the Policy Direction of the Faculty of Engineering. Amiwarti, S.T., M.T appeared as the second resource person to open the topic with material on Ethics and Procedures in the Practical Workplace. Then continued with the third speaker Emidiana, S.T., M.T with material on Making a Pratek Work Report. After the break, the program resumed. Appeared as the fourth resource person, Aan Sefentry, S.T., M.T with material on PKM-AI articles and appeared as the fifth resource person, Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T with material on K3.

The aims and objectives of this activity are, among others, to provide practical work training to students of the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang in order to have knowledge and understanding of how practical work is done, and to provide students with the ability, understanding, and skills in writing practical work reports and PKM-AI (Program Student Creativity-Scientific Articles) in accordance with the rules or guidelines that have been set at the Faculty of Engineering. In the future, students of the Faculty of Engineering will produce better reports and implementation of practical work.

The workshop was closed with a question and answer session between participants and presenters.
