Equalization of Perceptions of Thesis Compilation Guidance in the Faculty of Engineering PGRI Palembang University

The final project is one of the requirements for a student to obtain a bachelor’s degree. The final project for undergraduate students is in the form of a thesis report written based on the reference to the Faculty of Engineering Thesis Writing Format. Although it has undergone several revisions, this format contains rules that can cover all study programs at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas PGRI Palembang. Lecturers as student supervisors in writing final assignments often experience difficulties regarding the similarity of perceptions of students’ final assignments, both between lecturers/supervisors and between lecturers and students. This problem arises because there is no more detailed synchronization both at the study program level and at the faculty level. The activity “Equalizing Perceptions for Lecturers on Writing Thesis” is one solution that can solve the problem of differences in perceptions in writing student final assignments at the study program level.

For this reason, the Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang, on Saturday (10/09/2022) carried out the Perception Matching of Thesis Compilation Guidance at the Hall of the Faculty of Engineering, 2nd floor of Building D, Universitas PGRI Palembang.

As for the realization of the implementation of the equalization of thesis writing, only about 50%, there are still errors in the writing format. Therefore, lecturers have a very big role in directing and guiding students from the beginning of the semester to the end of the semester, each lecturer must also have guidelines and perceptions that are aligned in terms of preparing thesis writing in accordance with the thesis writing guidelines owned by the Faculty of Engineering. During the presentation of the material, the participants can play an active role by providing suggestions or ideas.

Before the event continued with the presentation of material by the resource persons, the event was interspersed with giving souvenirs to Mr. Adiguna, S.T., M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for the 2018-2022 term. The handover of souvenirs was carried out symbolically by Amiwarti, S.T., M.T as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for the term of 2022-2027.

Entering the next event is the presentation of the material by the speakers. Moderated by Reffanda Kurniawan, S.T., M.M, the event to equalize the perception of thesis writing presented 4 (four) presenters, namely Amiwarti, S.T., M.T (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering) by explaining material about the Policy of the Faculty of Engineering, Emidiana, S.T., M.T (Head of Electrical Engineering Study Program) with material Thesis Writing Format, Herri Purwanto, S.T., M.T., IPM (Head of Civil Engineering Study Program) with material on Procedures and Requirements for Student Thesis Activities and Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T (Head of Chemical Engineering Study Program) with material on Citation, Format and Submit Journal.
