Signing of MoU at PGRI Palembang University and Community Service (PKM) Chemical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, PGRI University Palembang with the theme “Bio Plastics: Environmentally Friendly Plastics at SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih”

On August 19, 2021, in the Hall of SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih, PGRI Palembang University and SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih established a collaboration as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Located in the Hall of SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih, the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, MM, M.Sc., CIQaR, in this case represented by Adiguna, ST, M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Son Suarly, M.Pd as the Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih signed a memorandum of understanding between the two sides. The MoU event was attended by the leadership, staff and students of SMK Negeri 1, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Lecturers of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas PGRI Palembang.

In his speech, Son Suarly, M.Pd expressed his highest appreciation to the University of PGRI Palembang for the implementation of this memorandum of understanding. “This is a good opportunity for us and it is hoped that SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih can synergize well with PGRI Palembang University both in improving learning, research and making students easy to study at PGRI Palembang University. Hopefully with the MoU we can all benefit.” Meanwhile Adiguna, S.T., M.Si said after the MoU, PGRI Palembang University would be ready to help improve the competence of SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih.” PGRI Palembang University will provide assistance for SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih, both regarding existing facilities and the required experts according to the agreement.”


After the signing of the MoU, the event continued with the implementation of Community Service (PKM) Chemical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering with the theme Bio Plastics: environmentally friendly plastic. Led by the Head of Chemical Engineering Study Program, Muhrinsyah Fatimura, S.T., M.T with members: 1. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Bakrie, MT, 2. Aan Sefentry, ST, MT, 3. Reno Fitrianti, ST, M.Sc., 4. Nurlela, ST, MT, 5. Rully Masriatini, ST, MT, 6. Husnah, ST, MT , 7. Ir. Agus Wahyudi, M.M., gave an explanation to teachers, managers and students of SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih about bio-plastics.
In the first session, Reno Fitrianti, S.T., M.Si gave knowledge about the impact of using ordinary plastic on society and the environment. Then provide an explanation of bio-plastic, its benefits and advantages. After listening to the presentation on bio-plastics, the event continued with the second session, namely the practice of making bio-plastics. The practice was guided by Nurlela, S.T., M.T. and assisted by students.


After the delivery of material and practice, the event continued with discussions and questionnaires. With the counseling and training on bio-plastics, it is hoped that it can motivate the community, especially SMK Negeri 1 Prabumulih regarding the use of bio-plastics.
