The signing of the MoU at PGRI Palembang University and the MoA for the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering with SMA Negeri 1 Lubai Muara Enim and Community Service (PPM) Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, PGRI University Palembang with the theme “Waterlogging Management with Biopore Techniques”

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, PGRI Palembang University and SMA Negeri 1 Lubai Muara Enim established a partnership that was stated in a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Located in the hall of SMA Negeri 1 Lubai Muara Enim, the Chancellor of the University of PGRI Palembang, Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si., CIQaR, in this case represented by Adiguna, S.T., M.Si and Nurmansyah Putra, M.Pd as Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Lubai signed a memorandum of understanding between the two parties. In addition to the MoU on this occasion, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was also signed between Amiwarti, S.T., M.T as the Head of the Civil Engineering Study Program and Nurmansyah Putra, M.Pd as the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Lubai.

The MoU and MoA were attended by the leadership, staff and students of SMA Negeri 1 Lubai, lecturers of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of PGRI Palembang. In his speech, Nurmansyah Putra, M.Pd expressed his highest appreciation to the University of PGRI Palembang for the implementation of this memorandum of understanding. “This is a good opportunity for us and it is hoped that SMA Negeri 1 Lubai can synergize well with the PGRI Palembang University and the Chemical Engineering Study Program both in improving learning, research and making it easier for students to study at PGRI Palembang University. Hopefully with the MoU and MoA we can all benefit.”

Meanwhile, Adiguna S.T., M.Si said after the MoU and MoA, the University of PGRI Palembang and the Faculty of Engineering, especially the Chemical Engineering Study Program, would be ready to help improve the competence of SMA Negeri 1 Lubai.” PGRI Palembang University and the Chemical Engineering Study Program will provide assistance to SMA Negeri 1 Lubai both regarding existing facilities and the required experts according to the agreement”.

After the signing of the MoU and MoA, the event continued with the implementation of Community Service (PPM) for the Civil Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering with the theme of Preventing Water Puddles with Biopore Techniques. Led by the Head of Civil Engineering Study Program, Amiwarti, S.T., M.T with members: 1. DR. M. Firdaus, ST, MT, 2. Adiguna, ST, M.Sc., 3. Herri Purwanto, ST, MT, 4. Reffanda Kurniawan, ST, MM, 5. Agus Setiobudi, ST, M.Sc., 6 Syahril Alzahri, ST, MT gave an explanation to the teachers, managers and students of SMA Negeri 1 Lubai Muara Enim regarding the prevention of puddles using the biopori technique. In addition to introducing the definition, purpose and benefits of biopore infiltration holes. Lecturers of the Civil Engineering Study Program also provide knowledge about the procedure for making infiltration holes, utilization and how to treat infiltration holes with biopore techniques.

After delivering the material and practice on how to make biopore infiltration holes, the event continued with discussions and questionnaires. With the existence of counseling and training on biopori, it is hoped that it can motivate SMA Negeri 1 Lubai Muara Enim regarding the use of biopori as an alternative to overcome puddles.

After the delivery of the material, the event continued with discussions and questionnaires. With this counseling and training, it is hoped that it can motivate and increase the knowledge of students, managers and teachers of SMA Negeri 5 Prabumulih in terms of managing and utilizing household waste.

Grand Deliberation (MuBes) of the Student Representative Council (DPM), the Student Executive Board (BEM) and the Study Program Student Association (HMPS) of the Faculty of Engineering for the 2021/2022 Period

Carrying the theme “Creating a Superior Engineering Faculty LKO with Wise, Progressive and Responsible Spirit” the Student Representative Council (DPM), Student Executive Board (BPM) and Study Program Student Association (HMPS) Faculty of Engineering, Universitas PGRI Palembang held a deliberation activity called The General Meeting (MuBes) which took place in the Classroom of the Faculty of Engineering, 1st Floor, Building D, Universitas PGRI Palembang. This activity is one of the annual routine programs of the Student Representative Council (DPM) as the campus Legislative Body. This activity takes place one day on January 24, 2022 from 08:00 WIB until it is finished. Present at the event, UPGRIP Chancellor Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si., CIQaR which in this case was represented by Drs. Sukardi, M.Pd. as Vice Rector III for student organizations, alumni, relations between institutions and PGRI organizations, Dean of the Adiguna Engineering Faculty, S.T., M.Si, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Aan Sefentry, ST, MT and the Heads of Study Programs within the Faculty of Engineering as well as the Chair, vice chairman and members of the BEM and DPM of the Faculty of Engineering.

In his speech, Wahyu Dwi Nanda as Governor of BEM FT said, “Thank you for all the support given by the leadership of the Faculty of Engineering for all the activities that have been carried out by DPM, BEM and HMPS so far. Hopefully the Faculty of Engineering will be better in the future.”

Then the event continued with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. Adiguna, S.T., M.Si, “A big thank you to all DPM, BEM and HMPS administrators who have carried out their duties to the best of their ability. This is a learning process in the implementation of the big deliberation, those of you who will later hold the baton must carry out their duties with full responsibility. Whoever is selected must prepare a work program for the next 1 year and be able to invite other colleagues to contribute positively to the institution. In the organization must comply with the rules of the game, must comply with applicable procedures and rules. In an organization what you are looking for is someone who is able to become a Problem Solver.” said Adiguna ending his speech.

Meanwhile in his speech Drs. Sukardi, M.Pd. said that the ongoing deliberation activity showed the openness and maturity of all Mubes participants, this was important for students in order to build a spirit of nationalism, maturity and awareness of the importance of problem solving held by consensus. “For the good of the study program we will support 100%, hopefully this activity can produce leaders who bring progress to the Faculty of Engineering”.

This Mubes activity in addition to electing the Chair of the DPM, the Chair of the BEM and the Chair of the HMPS of the Faculty of Engineering, also aims to provide learning to students how to organize properly and correctly, in addition to familiarizing students with deliberation to reach a consensus. The purpose of holding this activity is to form a faculty student organization that has a sense of responsibility, discipline, integrity and as a forum for unifying vision and mission in building student characteristics.

Implementation of the Thesis Session for the Civil Engineering Study Program, PGRI Palembang University Odd Semester Academic Year 2021/2022

Thesis is a scientific work that must be written by students as part of one of the requirements to obtain a bachelor’s degree. And to test the truth of the thesis material, it is necessary to hold a thesis trial or a comprehensive trial. Students who are allowed to take part in this thesis trial are students who have met various administrative requirements. In addition, the student has completed all courses as one of the requirements that must be taken. The thesis session itself has the meaning of an effort to determine the ability of students to understand and develop lecture materials that are in accordance with the scientific field of the study program, by presenting student thesis in front of the examiner lecturer. This is done to determine whether they are eligible to hold a bachelor of engineering (ST) degree. Meanwhile, the purpose of the thesis trial or comprehensive session is to assess students’ academic insight, abilities and depth, assess students’ reasoning and analysis abilities and assess students’ abilities in developing theories that are in accordance with the scientific disciplines of the study program.

The factory design assignment seminar is a final project that must be completed by every student of the Faculty of Engineering, Chemical Engineering Study Program, University of PGRI Palembang as a prerequisite for completing undergraduate studies. With this assignment, it is hoped that the reasoning ability and application of the theories that have been obtained during lectures can develop and can be understood well.

Chemical Engineering Study Program Internal Meeting

One of the obligations of lecturers to contribute is community service, community service is an element of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Community service can be interpreted as the process of implementing or applying the technology and knowledge possessed by lecturers to the community against the background of various problems that exist in society. Community service activities are intended to provide solutions to real problems that occur in the community.

The Chemical Engineering Study Program at the University of PGRI Palembang on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in the lecturer room of the Faculty of Engineering, held an internal meeting. The meeting was attended by the Head of Chemical Engineering Study Program, Muhrinsyah Patimura, M.T., Head of the Chemical Engineering laboratory, Rully Masriatini, S.T., M.T and lecturers.
