Every year, the Indonesian people commemorate the Indonesian Independence Day on 17 August. The theme of the 78th Independence Day commemoration is “Moving Forward for Advanced Indonesia”. To celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, one of the activities is to hold a flag ceremony to remember and honour the services of the heroes. In addition, this ceremony is also a place to recall the values of nationality, unity, and tolerance that are the foundation of the Indonesian state.
The Faculty of Engineering participated in the independence ceremony, which was held on Thursday (17/08/2023), in the courtyard of the Business & Science Centre Building of Universitas PGRI Palembang (UPGRIP).
The ceremony was chaired by the Chairman of PGRI of South Sumatra Province H. Ahmad Zulinto, S.Pd., M.M and attended by the Chairman of BPH PB PGRI at UPGRIP Dr. Hj. Meilia Rosani, S.H., M.H., and staff, UPGRIP Chancellor Dr. H. Bukman Lian, M.M., M.Si., CIQaR, along with the ranks, the board of PGRI South Sumatera, all officials and managers of the UPGRIP Academic Community, PGRI junior and senior high school students and teachers ranging from kindergarten to high school levels in Palembang City and other invited guests.
On this independence day, there was something quite interesting. Officials from Universitas PGRI Palembang attended and enlivened the independence day by wearing traditional clothes from their respective regions.
